This day is all about Mom! So many things that make me thankful for her. She set the bar so high for how to properly run a household that I will never meet that standard, but you know what? (and this is just for you, Morgan!)...even if I shoot for the moon, at least I'll land among the stars! ha! What I mean is that my A.D.D.-ness really keeps me from ever achieving a household run the way mom did it, but because I have that vision of such a great house, I feel like even if I halfway reach that standard, I must be doing really well...does anyone out there understand what I mean???
When I think back to all the things she did for us growing up, I feel sorry for my own kids (sorry Holly, Kyle, and Staci!).
- Kids came over just to eat her cooking. Game nights were all about her spaghetti. (yeah, there's no line of kids outside my door).
- If I had a vision of an outfit I really wanted, mom would let me choose fabric and then she would make it for me! and, may I say, we did NOT look like children of a certain family that might have a tv show on TLC! And I know I didn't exactly choose the easiest patterns, Mom...that doubles my thanks!
- And in the days long before computers, oh, the number of papers she typed for me!
Well, this only scratches the surface, but grandkids, you just need to know you have one incredible lady for a grandmother! Love you, Mom!
